Meet Terry
‘Terry is sensitive. He’s happy, curious and he loves his garden, where his parents grow fresh vegetables. Terry loves to care for the flowers, vegetables and insects that grow and keep his garden nice and clean. His favourite toy Teddy, who goes EVERYWHERE with him, is always there to help. When it’s raining Terry and Teddy love to splash around in puddles in the garden in their wellies.
One day Terry noticed something strange was happening in his garden. All his plants and vegetables had been sprayed with some funny looking rain, and all the creepy crawlies had run away. OH NO! Someone had used pesky pesticides! Terry spent all day carefully cleaning and restoring his garden. Later, Terry’s mum explained that some monsters use pesticides to make their plants grow super super big but that it’s much healthier to eat organic. That night Terry and his mum made a delicious Mediterranean inspired meal with all their home-grown veggies.’
Meet Tegan
‘Tegan thinks everyone should be treated equally. She wants everyone in the world to be happy and get treated fairly. In school Tegan learnt all about equality. Whenever Tegan has something nice, like a chocolate biscuit, she makes sure to share it equally with her friends.
On a Monster Mission to fight for social justice in Arizona she learnt that sometimes the farmers don’t get treated equally. So, she decided to help. She loves to help the farmers with their crops, making sure that everyone works together, gets paid fairly, and gets lots of breaks – this means everyone is much happier. She understands that it’s not fair when some people work really hard but don’t get treated the same as everyone else.
Tegan loves to send her friends, Maddy and Terry, postcards. She tells them all about her Monster Missions and helping to share the work on the farm.’
Meet Maddy
‘Maddy loves travelling, she’s an explorer …but she’s always had one fear – SPIDERS! One day, when Maddy was traveling through the jungles of Thailand, there was a terrible rainstorm. Huge raindrops splashed all around her and the scary spiders settling in their webs were knocked to the ground, right next to her! Suddenly, she realised that they need her help, and that they were more scared of her, and of the rain, than she was of them.
The day Maddy helped save the spiders in the jungle, she realised she was the bravest monster of them all! So, she started traveling the world to help other animals, with her best buddy, Sam the spider in tow. Their favourite way to travel is by boat and by bike – it’s much better for the planet than a car or a plane! Zoooom!!’
